Intesa (IBM Group) is now a qualified electronic seal provider
Intesa (IBM Group), a company that provides digital solutions to support businesses’ digital transformation journey, is now an European Trust Service Providers certified company to issue electronic seal (eSeal) for legal entities regulated by European eIDAS on digital identification. A proof of company’s willingness to be constantly up to date on digital-certification issues.
The eSeal option for businesses has only come about recently. Equivalent to a digital signature for a natural person, the electronic seal acts as a guarantee-of-origin and certification of integrity for electronic documents: digital photos and software, but also electronic invoices, Chamber of Commerce database entries, or receipts from certified email systems. Once an electronic seal has been affixed, each of these documents will be admissible as evidence for court or administrative purposes within the European Union.
“The use of the qualified electronic seal, which became part of our legal system with the promulgation of the eIDAS Regulation, has become a very compelling subject for Intesa and our customers,” relates Franco Tafini, Head of CA & DTM Solutions di Intesa, “especially when coupled with the digital-signature option which is already part of our qualified electronic-identification services both for natural or legal persons. eSeals open up new opportunities for process digitalization and digital transformation for our customers.”
This trust service is offered in addition to the other types of accreditations Intesa already holds, from AGID on a national level, and from eIDAS on a European level. These have positioned the company as a key point of reference for the digitalization of company processes.
